If you’re looking for something to do with your teens and tweens this summer, consider heading to the theatre to see what critics are already calling the hottest movie of the summer. The third installment in the Twilight Saga: Eclipse, hit theatres Wednesday, June 30, just in time for Independence Day.
While many of the concepts in the Twilight Saga are not appropriate for children under the age of thirteen, a rainy afternoon at the movies might be just the thing for teens, especially if they happen to be big fans of the Stephenie Meyer vampire/werewolf series.
Eclipse is getting mixed reviews, now that it’s in theatres, but the majority seem to be positive, with some even saying it’s even better than the first two movies. With teenage werewolf, Jacob, introduced early on, the Forks wolf pack adds much needed drama and conflict to the story line, along with a twisted vampire army bent on destroying Bella.
Love, drama, intrigue, vampires, werewolves… What more could a paranormal loving teen want from a summer movie? This is also a great mother/daughter film, as moms can easily relate to the oh-so-distant feeling of being an awkward teenager in love, so make an afternoon of it with your girls… or boys, if they happen to be fans.
Don’t forget to stop back here and let me know what you and yours thought of Eclipse. I know my own fifteen-year-old will be dragging me to the theatre at some point this weekend to form her own opinion. She was a big fan of the books, but isn’t exactly sure yet whether or not she likes the movies. Maybe Eclipse will be the one that changes her perspective.
