Video of the Day: Watermelon Baby

It’s hot. I know it and you know it and babies everywhere let us know as well. Hot, cranky babies are no fun, so what better way to cool down than in some watermelon? Yes, you heard right, I said “IN” some watermelon.

This is like an Anne Geddes photo just waiting to be taken. Watermelon babies… I think it might be the next big craze.

I don’t even know how my fiance stumbled across this video, but it was so adorable, I couldn’t stop watching it. Not only do I imagine this little cutie feels a little cooler, but it looks like gumming on the rind might actually be soothing if someone happens to be teething.

On the other hand, it looks a little unsafe. We’ve all seen watermelons roll around. They’re round and unstable. So is it a good idea to put your baby in a watermelon? Probably not, so this video comes with a “don’t try this at home warning!” And think about how sticky that baby is going to be when it’s time to come out of the shell.

Either way, it looks like no babies were harmed during this video, sore gums were most-likely soothed and it seems like a pretty cool place to hang out for a bit. Now if only I could find a mom-sized watermelon to nest in during our next 98 degree scorcher.

That is freakin' adorable! If I tried to put Blake in a watermelon, he'd split it in half.

You know Dad did that and it started with the words..."I wonder if..." If it were mom, she'd have taken the clothes off first. Adorable.
