Protests have erupted in Pakistan due to the slow delivery of aid after the country was hit hard by torrential downpours in the past weeks. The UN urges the world to raise money for relief efforts. Ban Ki-Moon, the secretary general of the UN stated that this is the worst natural disaster he’s ever witnessed. The UN has appeal for close to half a billion dollars to help provide some relief, but only twenty-five percent of that has been raised.

There is a high risk for the children being inflicting by various waterborne diseases, as there has already been a couple of cases of cholera.

Deputy Prim Minister mentioned to BBC News that he feels that the public is “struggling to understand the scale” of this disaster and just how many people have been effected. The numbers are stretching to death toll at 1,600 and 20 million rendered homeless!
