Fisher Price is recalling more than 10 million products after the Consumer Product Safety Commission alleged them of causing child injuries. From tricycles to high chairs, make sure to spot check any Fish Price products you may have. Of the 10 million product recalls, more than 70% are for tricycles. The biggest problem is an ignition key that sticks out of the vehicle. This has caused all sorts of injuries to younger kids.
It’s pretty unusual for a company like Fisher Price to contrive such a large recall. Having been around since the 1930′s, this is by far the biggest recall in company history. Although big recalls often hurt bigger companies, it should be noted that Fisher Price has done a great job in responding to these incidents and remedying the circumstances accordingly.
The CPSC has strict guidelines for products making it on the shelves, but most of these incidents were unforeseen. It’ll be interesting to see how Fisher Price rebounds from this major drawback.
